This article explains how to export or prepare a logo to be used in your custom graphics. Failure to follow these instructions will result in your logo being rejected or subject to additional artwork prep charges.

Make sure your artwork uses the CMYK color mode

Saving your file in CMYK ensures the colors in your artwork are as close as possible to what you see on your screen. Saving as RGB can cause colors to appear much more saturated than in possible to print, leading to unexpected results.

Make sure your file uses vector artwork

If raster artwork is used, your logo will be rejected because it will likely appear pixellated or blurry when printed.

Make sure all text is outlined

Text inside artwork files is often dependent on custom fonts and can appear different on different computers. To remove any possibility of your artwork appearing incorrectly, text needs to be converted to paths.

To do this in Adobe Illustrator, select everything on your canvas, then from the file menu, select Type > Create Outlines.

Save your file as a vector-supporting format

All files need to be saved as a vector-supporting file format, including raster artwork, because even embedded raster artwork should be accompanied by a vector cut line.

Acceptable (Vector) File Formats Examples of Unacceptable (Raster) File Formats
.ai
.eps
.pdf
.svg .jpg
.jpeg
.png
.gif
.tif

Only files that use vector artwork and are saved as a vector-supporting format will be accepted. While raster artwork can be embedded inside vector-supporting file formats (i.e. simply opening a .jpeg and saving as a .pdf), this does not convert raster artwork to vector and may result in the file being rejected or subject to additional artwork prep charges.

Artwork prep charges and file rejections

If your artwork isn't prepped according to these requirements, your files will either be rejected or your order will be subject to additional file preparation charges, which start at $50/hr.
